I like old things that time had tried
And proven strong and good and fine;
I like old things - they have a depth
Unknown by anything that's new.
ABOUT OPA OVERMEER
Opa Overmeer grew up in Holland, and came to Canada, as so many others did, after the Second World War. He turned to Farming as a way of making a living. One of his main crops was Sweet Corn. One day I was munching on a delicious cob, and almost ate a worm which was in the corn. I shrieked, to which he very calmly responded, " Would you rather eat the corn with the worm in it, or the corn which has been sprayed with pesticides with no worm? "
He inspired the Opa Overmeer's Farm Goods line - made up of simple, vintage Goods, some hand-made, some reproduction.
